Alaskan cruise questions …?
We would like to take an Alaskan cruise in July. Our travel agent recommends Princess Cruises (Princess Diamond for our itinerary), on the basis of many, many happy customers. I have read comments that do not support such satisfaction during the months of peak (the comments were best for cruises in May and September.) We have made Royal Caribbean and Carnival to other destinations, and all comments were great, as were our trips, so I'm reluctant to invest much for a mediocre experience. I wonder: 1) Can anyone comment on the princess (especially diamonds) to Alaska in July? I want to know about staff efficiency, quality of food and overcrowding, as there is no place to sit! 2) is the weather most of the rain? 3) visit Denali National Park – During May and September, passengers loved it. During July, reported comments chaos, long waits, the preference given to passengers who took additional trips during the journey of the earth. Any comments here? Thank you very much.
I have taken over 20 cruises / trips to Alaska. I've been on the diamond. I am not one that pays close attention to the craft as I'm more interested in ports of call. Food and service was excellent. Normally eat at the buffet for more selections. Never had a crowd in a particular area of the. ship time i have seen many say that it rains a lot here but all the times I've been there, just rain once between ports AFEW only lasted 7 hours. Princess is known for their Cruise / tours. They are the only cruise that puts you in 5 star lodges. Denali National Park is AMAZING. Make sure you tour includes a free guided tour inside the park. Once you are outside the Lodge and a trolley picks you up and takes you to where you want to go. Great food. Across the street a little square ideal for souvenirs. Also visited the land that includes the Stern Wheeler river boat cruise in Fairbanks. The average in the 70s during the day and 50 at night. You can also write the names of the ports of call such as Ketchikan, Juneau, Fairbanks and show you the average temps for that area. a great choice.
