Is it advisable to stay at a bed and breakfast when visiting Vancouver?
I'll have to rent a car if I stay in a B & B? Does anyone have any suggestions? I be in Vancouver for a weekend in August before my trip to Alaska and I get most of our weekend one. Thank you!
Yes! In the U.S., B & B are luxury, expensive specialty inns. In Canada they are cheaper, usually extra bedroom in the house of a family. Many people in Canada use when they travel, so you meet other travelers at breakfast and get to talk to them, and you meet the nicest, most interesting! We stayed in a B & B in Edmonton. At breakfast we talked with a man who worked for the Govt. I was in town for some training, a child apply to college etc. After you played ball with 3 of the owners-are years old, and his dog. It was like visiting family (actually better than-my-family). The owner also told us all about the city, history, where shopping, etc, etc. It was great!
