What is a good place in San Francisco for dinner and dance after a private wedding?
My mother is 44 years old and is taking a small private wedding in San Francisco. She wants to go eat and dance afterwards. Any suggestions as to where to go?
My husband and I were married San Francisco, just a small wedding and we went to a really fancy dinner at Acquarello was delicious Italian food in an old church (perfect for wedding dress since it is formal dress code). http://www.acquerello.com/ Then we went dancing and had drinks at Top of the Mark, that someone mentioned. http://www.topofthemark.com/entertainment.html That's a big, traditional "dance" place for mature people. I do not mean mature as the gray and walkers, but not a nightclub. It is the classic jazz you can dance. We rented a limo to take us from one place to another, since not many of us, and it became very easy to get from one point to another without having to worry about parking. It also gave us the ability to compress the whole city so that our wedding pictures taken in front of the "Painted Ladies", the China Beach Japanese Tea Garden, Shakespeare Garden, etc. I personally do not recommend going to Jazz at Pearl seveal reasons. The first is that it is an actual concert hall, which means no talking. I think on the night of a wedding, what kind of celebration brings an abrupt end to sit and watch a jazz. It is better to go somewhere that has live jazz for a drink where they still you can socialize and celebrate. Secondly, something terrible is happening in Pearl. I'm not sure if they are under new management or just go through some kind problem, but the last few times we were there, were disorgnized total and the staff were rude, so something has changed. It is still a neat place to go to see a good traditional jazz show, but not on her wedding night. The staff at the Top of the brand is top notch, classy place.
